More recently, Samsung updated Bixby’s Indian features, localizing recommendations and adding an Indian version of English to its languages. Samsung certainly doesn’t seem keen to give up on Bixby, performing a major overhaul of the interface at the end of last year to reduce the space Bixby takes up on the screen and added suggestions for what the user might like to do based on trends and previous user activity. Bixby has been Samsung’s voice assistant for a few years, including a complete revamp after the initial version failed to get off the ground. How Sam might fit into Samsung’s existing AI ecosystem is also unknown.

As first discovered on Twitter, Lightfarm Studios and the Samsung-owned Cheil Agency showcased the three-dimensional character in a since-deleted webpage available only through the Wayback Machine. Samsung may be creating a new virtual assistant named Sam that may accompany, or possibly replace, Bixby.
